there's a little island
off
the coast of maui
named: molokai

it's about a 2 hour boat ride away

me and randy
visited it last friday

rented a
chrysler lebaron
which waited for us in the ferry parking lot with the key in the ignition

got lost

explored

you know how it is

for lack of better words
this place reminded me
of
how real magic is

run down apartments
filled with
only
plants
and
eroding bricks

a city
skyline
that
has the tallest
buildings
i've seen in
6 months

the promise
of a
visit
to a
contemporary art museum
after
seeing
5oo year old ruins

the perfect
cohesion
of
new
and
old

i can't tell you enough
how
much
i'm
enjoying
panama city

hostels
getting ripped off by cabbies
a lost wallet
new people
new accents
book swaps

two argentinian teenagers
singing
black eyed peas
in the room at 5am

buenas olas
pancakes
hand made jewelry
pineapple
more english than you'd expect
smoothies

coffee

oh
the
joys
of
travelling
in
costa rica

surfing, friends, hammocks

stayed at
was
nautical-
themed

there's a guidebook for
Chile
on our
bookshelf
it's from
the 90's

i
just
love
the
photographs
in it

i think
that
pre
digital
photos
will
always seem
a
little more
magical

also

i've never
wanted
to go
to
Chile
more
